Guidance for leaders

We help executives understand the role of community and self-care in leadership positions. We offer coaching for individuals looking to improve their embodied presence, self-confidence, and communication skills.

Our coaching is sensitive to the experience and needs of TLGBQ+ people and other communities who have experienced marginalization. We work with a playful spirit. That means we work with humility, compassion, and humor. We offer three flavors of executive coaching to expand your skillset and better engage your community, online or in-person.

Focused Sessions

1. Lead with Presence | How to Be Cool, Calm & Collected

Times are changing. As a leader, I need, listen, adapt, and respond to the needs of the moment. I need to navigate change and stay grounded, but first I need guidance. Can I learn how to be present in the chaos? Can improv help to decrease my anxiety and stay happier in my day-to-day? Sessions are 60 to 90 minutes.

2. Lead with Humor | How to Be Funny & Compassionate
Make me laugh. My jokes fall flat. I want to learn about comedy and how to communicate with a sense of humor. I want to feel joy in my conversations. What makes something funny? How do I avoid offending people? Can networking be fun?
Sessions are 60 to 90 minutes.

3. Lead with Pride | How to Speak from the Heart
Do I have a story to tell? How do I make a speech? I need motivation and accountability. I need strategies to increase my confidence and improv my performance. I need self-care homework and tools for engaging my community.

Sessions are 60 to 90 minutes.

Testimonials

"...I find myself engaging in more conversations with my lab mates and seeking out new collaborations which have led me to develop a new branch of my thesis project. And whenever I get stuck on a problem I remember the crux of Tavish’s lesson: “if you don’t know what to do next make eye contact with your partner, and you’ll see the answer staring you in the face."
-William Aisenberg, PhD Candidate at Johns Hopkins University

"I could not recommend Tavish and Bird City Improv enough!!! Tavish was able to help me connect with my emotions and get out of my robotic improv routine like no other teacher/coach had been able to do."
-Geoff Taylor, Founder of Highwire Improv

"...Tavish is definitely the best improv coach I've ever had. Seriously cannot say enough wonderful things about Bird City and Tavish. If you're on the fence about trying improv, this is the place to start."
-Talya Tavor, Climate Activist in Maryland
